Nik Weston has been running club nights since the mid 1990’s and has put out over 35 releases so far with compilations on European, US and Japanese labels including 21 releases on his own Mukatsuku label imprint. He’s been heavily involved in the music scene since 1995 working in promotions for Island & Universal and subsequently A & R for Counterpoint & Exceptional Records. As a dj he’s played in almost 30 different countries and over the last three years with his partner Guynamite he has been putting out many edits and remixes under the GUYNAMUKAT guise which have been supported from the likes of Danny Krivit, Gilles Peterson, Jazzanova, Floating Points, Faze Action, Sofrito Crew and Mr Scruff. He plays 45’s funk, Afrobeat, Jazz, Latin and Boogie with music aimed firmly at the dancefloor. In 2010/11 Nik is concentrating on more GUYNAMUKAT productions with singles On Mukatsuku from Root Soul & Incognito plus a series original productions on the label plus a plethora of cheeky edits !

We always head for this particular Circle Sushi place in the heart of Shibuya. Sometimes we eat there every day as its so cheap and fish so fresh. We often get taken to new places by our friends which is great.

We always stay in Weekly mansion Tokyo – Akasaka. Akasaka station
Some others best places/spots in Tokyo (museum, park, street, quarter,
monument or others) ?
Harajuku has many great clothing shops and the park is very interesting as people dress up and parade around.Sitting in Starbucks overlooking Shibuya. Crossing where some 2 million people use each and every day is always interesting. Omotosando is always worth a look for shopping… Meiji Jingu is a nice Shinto Shrine.

Root Soul – Fuselage – The Unreleased Afro Beat Remixes comes out on Mukatsuku Records in late november. Root Soul fronted by Kenichi Ikeda are a Japanese band from Tokyo. Strictly vinyl only 180 gram vinyl.
